Won’t consider Ramasundaram as CBI additional director: Centre

The Centre on Thursday made it clear to the Supreme Court that senior Tamil Nadu cadre woman IPS officer, Archana Ramasundaram, would not be considered in future for the post of Additional Director in CBI as she had been empaneled for the post of DGP and presently posted as the Director of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).

The statement to this effect was made by Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar before a bench comprising Chief Justice HL Dattu and Justice Arun Mishra which on October 13 had asked him to take instruction on the issue from the competent authority. The Solicitor General on Thursday informed the Bench that he has a written instruction from the Home Secretary to state that Ramasundaram would not be considered in future for the post of Additional Director, CBI.
