Woman strangled to death in Gokalpuri area

The husband’s name appeared after the victim’s brother told police about the accused. According to the victim’s brother, before absconding the accused confessed to his crime over phone. According to police, the incident came to light on Monday morning when the landlord failed to get any response from the couple’s house that was locked from the inside. 

A call was eventually made to the police control room and a team reached the spot, where they broke open the door. The police team found Phoolmuni, the victim, lying unconscious on her bed. She was rushed to the nearby hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. Prima facie, it seems that she was strangled to death. The body has been preserved at a mortuary and the post-mortem examination is awaited. 

Her husband, identified as Bablu Murmur, works at a toy factory in Ghaziabad. The case has also been referred to a sub-divisional magistrate.
