Woman raped in moving mini-bus in Madhya Pradesh

In a reminder to <g data-gr-id="17">the December</g> 16, 2012, gang-rape in Delhi, a woman was allegedly raped in a moving bus in Bhopal late Wednesday night, police said. According to SP (Bhopal South) Anshuman Singh, two persons, including the main accused and the driver of the bus, have been arrested.
Police said the woman, who was alone, took the bus around <g data-gr-id="16">11pm</g> from <g data-gr-id="14">Chhola</g> area. A man, identified as Pandit, allegedly raped her on the moving bus. Police said the main accused was assisted in the crime by two accomplices, one of whom was Salman, the bus driver.
The bus was supposed to drop the woman in Pul Bogda, but did not stop there and took her to Maida Mill area instead, police said. The accused allegedly raped the woman in the bus as it made rounds of the area. The woman later went to a nearby police station, where she narrated her ordeal, following which Pandit and Salman were arrested, police added. The third accomplice, whose identity has not been disclosed by the police, is on the run.

An American woman, on her first visit to India, has claimed that she was raped by two men, but the police said her medical examination has not indicated that such a thing. A case under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC has been registered on the woman’s complaint. The woman has alleged that she was drugged and raped on Monday night. “Even no injury, wound or struggle mark were found,” said SP (Kangra) Abhishek Dular. “The report of chemical investigation is awaited from Shimla, which may take few days. After that, the exact picture could come out,” he said.
