Woman killed in Greater Noida for dowry

The matter came to light when her father, a resident of Palwal in Haryana, informed the police about the incident. The police have registered a case but no arresting has been made as the accused have fled to avoid police action.
The incident was reported from Salepur village. Lekhraj, informed the police that her daughter Santosh was killed by her husband Mithun and her in-laws by pouring kerosene oil on Sunday night. Lekhraj, in his complaint, said that ever since her marriage that took place in 2011, the in-laws were putting demand of Rs 2 lakh along with motorbike and other articles as dowry.
As Santosh had refused to pass their message to the family, they were torturing her repeatedly. They were not just beating her but were threatening to kill her also. In the last couple of months, they were harassing her regularly. As the matter was reported, police reached the crematorium of the village where it found ashes only.
