Woman, infant son succumb to burn injuries

A woman and his one-and-half-year-old son died of burn injuries after a fire broke out in their house in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the victims have been identified as Jagmeet Kaur (23) and her minor son Arshdeep. Kaur’s husband, Sewa Singh, was not at home when the incident happened, police said. Police said that the incident took place at around 7.20 pm on Tuesday when a fire broke out in their house apparently due to leakage from a cooking gas cylinder.

Several fire tenders, police teams and ambulances were rushed to the spot and the victims were taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital, where they were declared brought dead.
