A 40-year-old woman has alleged that she was gang-raped by two persons in front of an 80-year-old man in south Delhi’s Hauz Khas area on Saturday afternoon. All the perpetrators were known to the victim. She also alleged that the trio, along with another man, had earlier gang-raped her two and a half years ago.
The victim works for a NGO involved with human rights issues. She told the police that on Saturday one Raj Narayan (40), whom she knew for the last five years, took her to Sai Mandir in Lodi colony to meet one retired pharmacist. Narayan allegedly promised her a job in a dispensary.
After meeting Reila (75), who claimed to be a doctor, at approximately 1 pm, he along with Narayan took her to meet one Kishore Chand Narang (80) at Narang’s residence in Hauz Khas. Narrating her ordeal to the police, the victim alleged that she knew Reila and Narang for the last three years.
Soon after she was taken to Narang’s residence where Reila and Narayan took turns to rape her in front of Narang. ‘Later, at around 5.30 pm, the trio dumped the victim outside AIIMS Trauma centre and fled. She then approached the police station and lodged the complaint. Her medical examination confirmed rape’, a police official said.
In addition to her recent complaint, the victim told the concerned officials that two and a half years ago she was gang-raped by the same persons, along with one Vikas (40), who is a resident of Khanpur.
Based on her joint complaint about the two separate incidents, the police said that a case under the appropriate sections of gang-rape and criminal conspiracy of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against all the four accused. ‘We have arrested Vikas from his residence and a man-hunt is being carried out to nab the remaining three accused,’ the official added.
