Woman found dead under mysterious circumstances

On Thursday, a 20-year-old Manipuri woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area. Initially reports point towards a case of suicide or food poisoning.
According to police, Aben Sofia who hails from Manipur, came to Delhi a week ago at her friend’s residence in Munirka. Her friend, whose identity was not disclosed by police, was residing with her brother since the past year at a rented accommodation.
Sofia’s friend worked at a call center in south Delhi. On late Wednesday evening she went for work and on Thursday morning at around 7.30 am she returned home.
The doctors declared her dead on arrival. ‘Prima facie it appears that it is a case of either suicide or food poisoning. No suicide note has been recovered from her possession. Friend of the deceased is being questioned. Her mobile phone has been taken into possession,’ a police official said.
