Woman fights off snatcher who tried to escape

The bravery of a 45-year-old woman helped the police arrest a snatcher in Rohini Sector 16. The woman had fought off a snatching attempt by kicking a motorcycle and throwing the snatcher off balance, after which the police caught hold of him.

The incident took place on January 12, when the 45-year-old, while returning to her home, after purchasing some items from the local market in Rohini Sector 16. When she almost reached her house, a youth on a bike tried to snatch her purse.

But rather than fleeing to safety, the woman decided to take on the snatcher and kicked his bike. He lost his balance and fell and in the meantime, the woman had made a PCR call and the police reached the spot and arrested him.

“The accused has been identified as Abhimanyu (23),” said a police official.
