Woman detained for throwing flowerpot at PM motorcade

A 20-year-old woman was detained by the police when she breached the security cover and allegedly threw a flower pot on the Prime Minister’s motorcade in the heavily guarded Raisina Hill area near Vijay Chowk on Wednesday afternoon. According to the police, the woman belongs to Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh and on being questioned, she alleged that some hooligans had torn her mark-sheet and harassed her in her native place, for which she had filed a police complaint there but the cops allegedly did not take any action. The woman has been identified as Neena Rawal. She was detained and thoroughly questioned at the Parliament Street police station prior to which she was taken for a medical check up. Police said the incident took place at around 2:10pm when the Prime Minister’s convoy was leaving from South Block.
