Woman dead, husband hurt as truck hits bike

New Delhi: A 24-year-old woman was killed and her husband seriously injured when the bike they were riding was hit by a truck near Lajpat Nagar here last night, police said on Friday. 

The deceased was identified as Farah (24). She was riding pillion with her husband on the bike when a truck hit them from behind at the turning under the Moolchand flyover. The truck driver fled from the spot leaving his vehicle on the road.

The couple were residents of Shaheen Bagh and returning home, police said. ‘We received a PCR call at around 12.05 am following which a police team from Lajpat Nagar police station rushed to the spot and admitted the couple to the AIIMS Trauma centre where Farah succumbed to her injuries,’ said a police official.
