Woman, brothers beat up husband

A 27-year-old man was harassed and badly beaten up by his wife and her two brothers on late Wednesday night. The incident took place in Ambedkar Nagar area of south-east Delhi. According to Kishan, the victim, he was being harassed for the last three years.
Kishan is a resident of Bijnaur and got married to Aanchal in 2009. It was a love marriage. Kishan operates a beauty parlour in the area.
On Wednesday, Aanchal along with her two brothers, came to his rented accommodation and started a heated argument. The argument turned violent and they started beating him up. Reportedly, Aanchal beat him with a wooden stick that she had brought along with her.
When Kishan raised an alarm, some neighbours gathered. The three accused, however, managed to escape. Later, Kishan made a PCR call to inform the police.
According to Kishan, ever since he got married to Aanchal, her family used to interfere in their personal affairs. Her brothers, Vicky and Vishal, even took the gifts that she had brought with her after the wedding, he alleged. Since that day onwards, his harrasment began. ‘Kishan said due to the interference of his wife’s family in their lives, their relationship also soured and the couple had been living separately.,’ said a police official. He added that they have recorded the statement of Kishan, on the basis of which a complaint has been lodged in Ambedkar Nagar police station. ‘No arrests have been made so far but we are looking into the matter,’ the official added.
Meanwhile, Kishan has been taken to a nearby government hospital for treatment.
