Woman alleges rape by husband’s friends

A woman in Greater Noida has alleged that she was raped by two of her husband’s friends. The police has arrested one of the accused, while another is absconding.
According to the victim, two of her husband’s friends, who are also known to her, offered her lift on their bike while she was on her way to a nearby vegetable market. But the two took her to their rented accommodation and raped her. The incident occurred on Tuesday, but the woman registered a complaint only on Sunday.
The victim, aged in early thirties, told the police that the rapists threatened to harm her and her family if she complained to the police. However, unable to keep it from her husband, who is a truck driver, as are the accused, she narrated the whole to him. The couple then filed a complaint at the police station. The couple has two children, a seven-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son.
'We have arrested one of the accused, Vijay Kumar, who hails from Badaun while a manhunt has been launched to nab the other culprit,' said Sanjay Kumar, inspector of Dadri Police station. 'The other accused, Nizam, is a resident of Bulandshahar,' added Kumar.
