With the stunning performance of Aam Admi Party (AAP) in the assembly elections in Delhi, a new wave is blowing to change the power equations in hill state.
With the poor performance of SP and BSP party in the last two Parliamentary elections, the only hope is AAP which can emerge as threat to the two established political party, according to political pundits. Congress and BJP leaders are leaving no space to AAP volunteers to grab the opportunity by declaring something catchy in their manifesto matching to the taste of voters that can ruin the future of many political stalwarts.
On the opening day of 2014, CM Vijay Bahuguna paid surprised visit at night to know the first-hand conditions of poor people at the state capital. At first, many poor with no roof over their head did not believe to their eyes. Like messiah of poor, he distributed blankets among the homeless poor and directed officials to make shelters home for them as early as possible.
According to Anand Sharma, OSD to CM Vijay Bahuguna, the CM will meet the general public at his residence meeting hall on Sunday.
In the BJP camp, former CM Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank heralded the clean operations in politics by removing red beacons and hooters from his official car. BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi reportedly also distributed blankets to the poor and needy. A government official said that on the close heels of Delhi new CM Arvind Kejriwal, the BJP and Congress leaders have started gimmicks to win the sympathy of public. The general elections are getting closer, and politicians are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters by their news-making activities. By hook or crook, they want to remain in news and catch the headlines.
