Widow alleges gang-rape by civic officer, friend

A municipal corporation official and his friend have been accused of repeatedly raping a 42-year-old widow for almost two years on pretext of getting her a job in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden.
On Saturday, the woman approached the police and filed a complaint against the accused persons. No arrests have been made by police so far. According to the woman, the duo allegedly raped her in different hotels in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh on pretext of getting her a job. She told police that she was constantly being threatened with dire consequences.
She also added the death of her husband had forced her to seek a job. Police have booked the two men for gang-raping her. Investigations are underway in the case, an officer said.
