Who is threatening Sanjay Joshi?

Former Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP] leader Sanjay Joshi has a knack of being in the news, his unceremonious exit from the party due to differences with Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi or mysterious posters appearing that criticised Modi and praised him hogged the lime light in recent time. This time the former BJP leader has claimed threat to his life and has written a letter to Union home minister P Chidambaram seeking more security.

Joshi in the letter on 14 June to the home minister has claimed that he had received threat calls through letters and on his mobile phone from three different numbers. The government is examining the contents of the letter. 'We have sent the letter to the concerned department. We are examining it,' said Jitendra Singh Minister of State for Home.

In the letter to the home ministry Joshi seeking enhanced security said, 'Again some people have started making fresh threatening call to me on my mobile, I have also received a handwritten letter from a person Rasool Khan wherein I have been warned that I should get ready for my death'. The letter sent to Joshi says, 'The way he is becoming an obstacle in the way of their boss, is not appropriate and he might have to pay with his life.'

Joshi had earlier also received death threats and his security was enhanced my the government. The former BJP leader said that he used to feel safe in Delhi when security was provided to him and these days it is getting difficult for him to manage his work. 'I want that these persons should be tracked down and suitable action taken against them as well as the persons behind their activity' said Joshi in his letter. In the letter Joshi has also asked for security cover outside Delhi.
