Adityanath, against whom the EC directed lodging of a complaint for violating model of conduct, had recently stated that ‘jihad in the name of love is unacceptable’ and that only a BJP-led state government can ‘stop forceful conversion of Hindu girls’.
VHP even circulated pamphlets on ‘love jihad’ in Vadodara in Gujarat. On the context of his ‘differences with PM Modi, Singh said, ‘Our relationship was always harmonious. He is the PM and I am a minister under him. I am the home minister.’
