Wenger gets fruitful return

French striker Olivier Giroud plundered his sixth goal in three Asian tour games as Arsenal marked manager Arsene Wenger’s return to his former club Nagoya Grampus with a 3-1 win on Monday.
Giroud sent the visitors on their way after just three minutes at a packed Toyota Stadium before Japanese midfielder Ryo Miyaichi got his debut Arsenal goal from the penalty spot.

England’s Theo Walcott added a third after half-time before Kisho Yano gave Nagoya reason to cheer with a consolation strike 18 minutes from the end. Arsenal had scored 14 goals in their games against the Indonesian Dream Team and Vietnam and there was no let-up in front of a record 42,919 fans -- many of them red-shirted -- in Toyota.
