Taking on competition from Apple and Google’s Android, Microsoft on Thursday launched the latest version of its flagship operating system Windows 8, which is designed to work across PCs, tablets and smartphones. Windows 8 can be controlled using touch (with tablets) and with mouse and keyboard (desktops).
