An employee at the help-line desk said they have been receiving at least two to three calls every day from women facing mental disorders. ‘The wife of a senior government official, who has been living alone, calls us every day. She keeps us informed about all her activities.’
The helpline, which has been trying to analyse the reasons for mental disorders of such callers, has found that a majority of them are those who have been in live-in relationships and were later dumped by their partners.
‘When they enter into any such relationship, they should not expect the person to get married to them. Once they break up, the girl generally goes through tremendous mental trauma,’ an employee of the helpline said.
The other factors which have been found responsible for such disorders is when an affair does not materialize into marriage.
