Wanted criminal held by police from Mathura railway station

Delhi police’s special cell arrested a wanted criminal from Mathura railway station on Sunday.
The accused was involved in two criminal cases, wherein he, along with his associates had attempted to crush a police personnel and also opened fire upon few cops in order to escape arrest. The accused has been identified as Dilshad, a resident of Sudaka Village in Mewat. Soon after these two incidents, on 13 June, Delhi police commissioner had declared a reward of Rs 50,000 on Dilshad.
Recently, Delhi police arrested three criminals, who are also from Mewat. While interrogating the trio, a team got a specific information that Dilshad would be coming to Mathura railway station on the evening of 10 September to meet someone. ‘Acting upon this information, a trap was laid and Dilshad was held.
He was brought to Delhi and has been produced before the concerned court,’ a senior police official said.
He has been charged under the section 41 (1) of Cr PC, the officer added.
In the intervening night of 23- 24 April, Dilshad along with his six other associates entered Delhi on a Mahindra pickup van without a number plate to commit crimes. A PCR van, patrolling on Mathura road noticed the vehicle and tried to stop it giving sirens. However, the van sped away and took a sudden U-turn towards Badarpur.
‘When the police tried to stop them, the driver of the pickup van rammed his vehicle into the PCR, which severly injured a head constable and damaged the police van’ the police official said while narrated the incident of that night.
