Vote enthusiastically in Delhi polls: Najeeb Jung

“We are at the cusp of welcoming a new elected government and I sincerely appeal to all the voters of Delhi to participate wholly and enthusiastically in the electoral process,” Jung said on this occasion at Chhatrasal Stadium.

Jung said Delhi was emerging as a healthcare hub and appealed to the residents to make the city friendly and secure for women. He also said that the Delhi government’s top priority was providing shelter to the homeless in the capital.

As the chief guest at the ceremony, Jung was given a guard of honour by contingents of Delhi Police, Civil Defence, Delhi Fire Service and the National Cadet Corps. It was followed by a cultural programme.

Delhi’s Chief Secretary DM Spolia and other officials were also present on this occasion.

Spolia presided over the function, while former Chief Secretary and CMD (Delhi Finance Corporation) SK Srivastava, Pr. Secretary (Home) Arvind Ray, Pr. Secretary (GAD) Anindo Majumdar, Pr. Secretary (Finance) SN Sahai, Pr. Secretary (Education) Punya S Srivastava, Pr. Secretary (UD) Rajendra Kumar, Pr. Secretary (PWD) Arun Baroka, Pr. Secretary (Power) Shakuntala Gamlin, Secretary cum Commissioner (F&S) SS Yadav, Secretary (Environment) Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman (NDMC) Jalaj Srivastava, Secretary (Art & Culture) Geetanjali Gupta Kundra and a galaxy of other senior officers, heads of department and senior police officers were also present on this occasion.
The national Capital has been under President’s rule for about a year.
