Two men who were involved in a Rs 57 lakh robbery in Vivek Vihar at gunpoint have been arrested on Friday by Delhi police. The accused have been identified as Aakil, 25, and Wasim, 24. They were arrested by the south-east police. The police said that Aakil was arrested on 18 September, around 10.30 pm from the Delhi-Haryana border at Badarpur. During his arrest he was coming to Delhi from Faridabad on a Pulsar motor cycle.
The robbery took place on 11 August in Vivek Vihar area of east Delhi when two people on a bike robbed Rs 57 lakh after shooting and injuring three employees of a petrol pump while they were going to a bank to deposit cash.
The police has recovered over Rs 12.40 lakh, a motor cycle and jewellery purchased from the looted money from the possession of Aakil.
