Vishwas’ family pushed out of Amethi, Bharti booked

Vishwas’ family members have reportedly left Amethi.

Vishwas voiced his outrage on Twitter saying, ‘District admin & police ask my wife and sisters to leave Amethi immediately at 11 pm. Can they dare to ask the same to Priyanka G & congis?.’

The AAP leader also  accused police of snatching booth bags from party’s volunteers and arresting them.

‘Police reached Mohanganj and snatched booth bags from our volunteers and arrested them. Now, they won’t allow us any booth activity,’ Dr Viswas said in his tweet.

Amethi goes to polls on Wednesday, where Vishwas is pitted against TV actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani of BJP and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and former Delhi minister Somnath Bharti has been booked by the Amethi district administration for overstaying in the constituency.

Bharti was among the scores of AAP leaders who had landed in Amethi to mobilise popular opinion in favour of Kumar Vishwas.

Bharti has, according to sources in Amethi district administration, been accused of violating Section 144 of the IPC and the Representation of People’s Act for staying on in Amethi even after the deadline for campaigning had come to an end at 6 pm on Monday.

Bharti refused to comply with the orders of the district authorities, forcing them to act against him.
