Arunachal Pradesh governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma has expressed deep concern over allegedly increasing incidents of violence on people of the north east in the national capital and has spoken to his Delhi counterpart on it.
Sharma, who condemned the assault of a lady advocate and a nurse from Mizoram, spoke to his Delhi counterpart Lt Governor Najeeb Jung over telephone yesterday and requested him to take up the two incidents on a priority basis to expedite investigation, a Raj Bhawan communique said on Saturday.
Cases of physical injury including murders, assaults and many other discriminating and prejudicial incidents ‘have to be stopped by all means’.
Nirbhay Sharma said a large number of people from Arunachal Pradesh, especially students go to to the national capital to pursue higher studies or to seek jobs.
