Dubbing it as a ‘deliberate mischief’ to malign it, Congress on Tuesday approached the Election Commission against BJP over hoardings showing prices of onions and tomatoes at Rs 100 and Rs 80 per kg respectively.
In a complaint to the EC, Congress legal department secretary KC Mittal wanted a direction to BJP for immediate removal of the hoardings. ‘The price of onion has come down considerably after the Congress government in Delhi started selling it at cheaper rates after permission was granted by the EC,’ it said.
Claiming that such boards and hoardings are a ‘total distortion of facts and a false propaganda’, Congress said the price of onions ranges between Rs 25 and Rs 50 and tomato from Rs 25 to Rs 48.
