‘Veda shows ways to save our environment’

National Science Day was celebrated on 28 February at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Kundli.

The vice-chancellor (VC) of NIFTEM, Ajit Kumar, inaugurated the celebrations and the Environment Club of the institute by planting a sapling.

While speaking on the occasion, the VC emphasised that the young generation should develop both scientific thinking and mindset. He said superstitions should have no place and society should have confidence in the scientific results. He encouraged adopting environment friendly lifestyle.

Kumar also held that people should take the responsibility for what they do. He reminded the students that our concern for environment is not new but has been well defined and explained in our vedas that we should save our environment for life on the Earth.

He urged the students to read the vedas to learn about our deep-rooted traditions as how to save the environment for a healthy life on the Earth.  

Kumar concluded by saying ‘Enjoy working for the environment – make it a way of life.’

Painting, quiz and debate competitions were organised by the students. The programme was co-ordinated by the agriculture and environmental sciences department of the institute. Certificates were distributed to the winners of various competitions.
