Varsity exams to affect youth turnout in Rahul’s Indore rally

‘The semester examination in DAVV will adversely affect the participation of youth in the rally,’ said NSUI district president Siddharth Yadav. Over 80,000 students of private colleges affiliated to DAVV pursuing professional courses like BA, B. Com and others will be appearing in the semester examination which is clashing with the date of Gandhi’s visit.

‘There are 80,000 students in third and fifth semester who will write their examination starting on Thursday,’ said DAVV examination controller KN Chaturvedi.

To compensate this high number which will not be turning up at the rally, NSUI is focusing on engineering colleges which have their semester examinations due in December this year. ‘We are targeting engineering colleges now as they are free from examinations at this time,’ Yadav said.

In addition, the student outfit of Congress is also targeting the first, second, fourth and sixth semester students who don’t have their examinations now, he said. A delegation of NSUI met students of Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I) on Tuesday to invite them for participating in Rahul Gandhi’s rally.

They will be inviting students of Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (IIT-I) for the rally on Wednesday.

‘We want a separate representation of IIM and IIT students to meet Rahul Gandhi at the rally for which we have invited them,’said Yadav.
