Violence broke out outside the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) headquarters on Monday as youths, demanding the removal of the Chairman over the issue of leakage of question papers indulged in stone pelting and damaged a state roadways bus.
Over 100 people gathered outside the UPPSC headquarters, where they raised slogans, demanding removal of UPPSC Chairman Anil Yadav in view of the leakage of question papers for General Studies paper of PCS (Prelims) on Sunday, barely a few hours before the tests began at 9.30 am.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s directives for cancelling the paper was met with applause by the agitating aspirants though a section of the protesters declared that they would not budge unless the Chairman is removed whom they held “directly responsible” for the leakage. The protesters, thereafter, started hurling stones at the UPPSC building, entry to which has been restricted for the public since Sunday in view of the volatile situation.
