UP state cabinet clears Yamuna Action Plan 2031

The UP cabinet on Thursday gave green signal to the proposals of the ambitious Yamuna Action Plan 2031. The decision is being seen as a major acheivement for the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Develpoment Authority as it would pave way for major development works in the Yamuna Expressway region in Gautam Budh Nagar district.

As per the new master plan, 53,000 acre land would be acquired out of which 23,475 would be used to set up Yamuna Township — the Greenest NCR city in the country. The rest of the land would be kept green.

For industries, land has been raised from 13 per cent as proposed to 20 per cent. This way, Yamuna city will become the biggest industrial city in Gautam Budh Nagar. A total of 19.5 per cent land will be used for residential purposes. For the new township, land from 179 villages will be used. While 139 villages come under Gautam Budh Nagar, the rest are from Bulandshahar.
