With the objective to provide world class facilities to industrialists in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government has started Saraswati hi-tech city project.
The hi-tech city is being developed by Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) on 1,140 acres of land and total cost of the project would be Rs 2,227 crore. It will be developed as industrial hub and emphasis would be on information technology.
“Saraswati hi-tech city has been planned as an industrial, residential, recreational and institutional centre. People will get jobs from the industrial town and students will get skill-based education from the deemed universities to be set up here. It will have parks and community centres,” a UP government official said. He added that proposed city is 10 km from the railway station and about 30 km from airport.
Under the first phase, for booking of 1,500 residential plots advertisements have already been published on September 9 mentioning that last date to apply for the plots as October 13. There are 350 plots of A-Type (297 sq metre), while 650 plots are of B-Type (216 sq metre) and 500 plots are of C-Type (120 sq metre). The plots would be distributed to owners through lottery system.
The chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had performed 'bhumi pujan' of Saraswati hi-tech city on September 2 last year. The project is being developed near National Highway no 76, which is 12 kms away from Allahabad city.
