UP CM unfurls Rs 6K cr projects for twin cities

Working hard to turn his dream of transforming Uttar Pradesh into “Umeedon Ka Pradesh” a reality, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav laid foundation stones and inaugurated 55 developmental projects costing around Rs 6,000 crore in the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida on Saturday, from his official residence in the state capital Lucknow.

The Chief Minister said that the state has made long strides in development in the last three years by focusing on infrastructure including power, education, health and social welfare. The 300 km Agra Lucknow express way, metro train project in Lucknow and power projects in various parts of the state have increased potential for developments and investments in the state, he said. He said that in the next two years, more developmental works would be inaugurated and lots of investment would also be made in the state.

The projects unveiled on Saturday, included a child-specialty hospital in Sector 30, 10-feet over bridges in Nodia, hostel for students in Sector 62, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) office in Sector 44, highway traffic management system on Yamuna Expressway, three 33 kilo watt power sub-stations and six bridges in and around Noida, at the total cost of Rs 1,100 crore. In Greater Noida, the focus was on the Gautam Buddh University (GBU); two auditoriums, an indoor stadium; a 500 kilo watt solar power plant in GBU; GRENOE police office in Janpat area and construction of a sewage treatment plant in Kasna to be carried out within the remaining cost of around Rs 400 crore.

The proceedings were wired in to Noida as he pressed the button for inaugurations and laying of the foundation stones for the development projects from there.

Besides, Yadav made announcements for projects worth Rs 3,000 crore in Noida and Rs 1,200 crore in GRENOI, which includes a multi-level parking at Botonical Garden metro station, elevated road on Master Plan road 2, elderly’s park in Sector 105, Samajwadi residential complex at the cost of Rs 160 crore, shooting range in Sector 21 A, Shilp Haat and a Bunkar Bhawan in Sector 33, five power sub-stations across various places in Noida, bus terminal in Sector 82 at a cost of Rs 171 crores, cycle tracks on major roads of Noida at around Rs 49 crore.
