Unclaimed bag spreads scare at metro station

The security agencies were on their toes after an unattended bag was found at the Nirman vihar Metro Station premise on Wednesday.

Bomb disposal squad was immediately rushed  to the spot. The dog squad and a CISF team along with the local police also reached the spot and blocked premise for around half an hour. However, there was no disturbance in the metro service. While the entry gate was closed the exit gate remained open for the commuters.

‘We received a call about this bag around 2.30 pm and the CISF team along with the dog squad was immediately called in. The team denied the presence of any explosives in the bag. The area was immediately evacuated and cordoned off for around 30 minutes for checking,’ said a senior CISF official said.

Meanwhile, DMRC said that such incidents often take place as many commuters forget their bag at the metro premises.
