Uma Bharti says it again, ‘Modi is not a good orator’

While addressing a meet at Jhansi on Monday, Uma had said, ‘Vajpayee is the best orator BJP has ever had. When you compare Modi to Vajpayee, you realise Modi is not as good. But Modi’s rallies still see a huge turnout as people want to show their support. Have you heard Modi making speeches? Atal Bihari Vajpayee is the best orator of our party. Nobody equals his oratory skills in Indian politics,’ she had said.

She added legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand will be considered for the Bharat Ratna if ‘my government comes to power.’

Uma broke the party line – ‘Abki bar Modi Sarkar (This time Modi’s government)’ and tweeted ‘my government’. Recently, party president Rajnath Singh was in an awkward situation after he posted ‘Abki bar BJP Sarkar (This time BJP government)’ and later changed it to Abki bar Modi Sarkar in a social networking site.

Soon after her statement on Monday, the national media highlighted the issue. A day later, on Tuesday, Uma said: ‘The BJP’s prime ministerial candidate is the country’s anokha (unique) person who draws massive crowd. All that I said about Narendra Modi, I will repeat it again. A B Vajpayee was a good orator but Narendra Modi is the country’s anokha person after years in whose support lakhs and lakhs turn up. This is what I had said.’ ‘Not only was he born from his mother’s womb but also from the womb of India’s soul,’ Uma tweeted.

Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi made the most of this and said, ‘It is true that Modi’s speeches lack content and his language is not very appealing. His speeches lack content and he doesn’t have any knowledge about India’s history.’
