UK’s minister of state for energy coming next week

Seeking to explore opportunities in India in the field of low carbon technologies and business, Britain's Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change Greg Barker will visit the country next week.

During his four-day visit between 30 June and 3 July, Barker will hold discussions with ministers and business leaders in New Delhi and Hyderabad focusing largely on the Bangalore Mumbai Economic Corridor (BMEC) project. 'The Bangalore Mumbai Economic Corridor  is a project I am keen to promote during this visit. Like much of our cooperation, it is my hope that this project will help both India and the UK meet the twin challenges of creating sustainable economic growth while tackling dangerous man-made climate change,' Barker said.

In Delhi, the Conservative Party MP will meet ministers and business heads involved in the energy sector, including clean energy and renewable energy finance, and green infrastructure.
