U'Khand CM praises Sushma for releasing funds

Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat on Friday appreciated the release of green bonus fund to the state as promised by Union Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday.

Rawat said: “We need to continue the special state funding pattern of 90:10 as we used to get earlier. We can’t progress without the support of Central relief operations. Being a new state, where the sources of income are limited, we need special attention as 65 <g data-gr-id="14">per cent</g> of the state's total land comes under forest area.” He urged the Centre not to compare Uttarakhand with states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa and Haryana. The CM added that if state representatives had tabled all issues plaguing Uttarakhand in Parliament, then the situation would have been different.
