Sahara India Pariwar Managing Worker & Chairman Subrata Roy Sahara presented the final highlights of the Sahara Think Tank and India Center to British Prime Minister David Cameron at a closed-door round table conference in Mumbai. The conference was attended by heads of nine major corporate houses of India.
The initiatives were earlier discussed at a one-to-one meeting between Roy Sahara and Cameron at 10 Downing Street, London, the British prime minister's official residence, on 24 June, 2012.
The Sahara Think Tank is planed to provide a platform through a team of young professionals from the UK to tap unique business opportunities. The initiative will be executed under the guardianship of Lord Patel of Bradford, OBE and other eminent British citizens. The Mumbai meeting was the first edition of the Sahara Think Tank initiatives.
Sahara's UK India Center will be a joint venture partnership with the University of East London. Planned on a 4-acre plot at the university's Dockland campus, it will house world class student facilities.
Cameron appreciated the fact that this would be the only such endeavour in the world between a corporate entity and a university.
