Udai Pratap is DDA Vice-Chairman

In a senior level bureaucratic reshuffle, 13 officers of additional secretary level have been shifted to different departments. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Udai Pratap Singh, a 1984-batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre, as Vice-Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
The appointments committee has also approved appointment of West Bengal cadre’s senior IAS officer Sumanta Chaudhuri as Managing Director of Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium in the Department of Agriculture and Co-operation, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
A total of 13 Additional Secretaries have been appointed in Central government departments. Of them, nine are IAS officers and rest from other services. Forest service officer Ashok Pai has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, National Waqf Development Corporation Limited.
Prior to his new assignment, Singh was the Additional Secretary in Ministry of Tourism. He has been appointed in place of Arun Goel, who has been named as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in Labour and Employment Ministry, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
Rabindra Panwar and S N Sahai have been appointed as Additional Secretary in Defence and Commerce ministries respectively.
Suresh Kumar, a 1986 batch IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre, has been appointed as Assistant Secretary in Coal Ministry. Sanjeeva Kumar will be Additional Secretary in Department of Health and Family Welfare. Senior bureaucrat UP Singh has been appointed as Additional Secretary, River Ganga (Rejuvenation, Protection and Management) Authority against the newly created post. Meenakshi Gupta, an officer of Indian Audit and Accounts Service, will be Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertiliser. Anuradha Mitra, an officer of Indian Defence Accounts Service, has been named as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
