Uber driver, accused of rape, asked to surrender his license

The 32-year-old Uber cab driver, accused of raping a woman finance executive has been asked by the Delhi government to immediately surrender the registration certificate of the taxi in which the crime took place. According to the transport department, Shiv Kumar Yadav has also been directed by the authorities to deposit pending dues of his taxi (No DL 1YD 7910) in which he allegedly raped the victim on the night of December 5. “The permit holder Shiv Kumar Yadav is directed to immediately deposit the registration certificate of his taxi (DL 1YD 7910) with pending dues in the department’s taxi unit in Burari,” said a police official.
