Students from the UAE will attend a 10-day workshop in Ladakh focusing on designing energy-efficient systems, community participation and social entrepreneurship. The intensive field-based course aims to offer the students from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology an opportunity to learn skills in energy system design, community participation and social entrepreneurship.
‘The 10-day summer program being offered to YFEL students aims to bring together students and young community leaders interested in learning the designing and implementation of energy access programs that directly impact human development,’ said Fred Moavenzadeh, President of Masdar Institute.
During the workshop, the participants will help the local community in Ladakh design energy-efficient systems. Considering the region has poor connectivity to the rest of India and heavy rains and avalanches cut-off key passes in area from rest of the country every year, its focus will be on energy-access programs for the community.
