Two-wheelers allowed passage on NH-24

In a big relief for commuters and to ease traffic on NH-24, <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) on Friday allowed two wheelers to pass through an under-construction bridge on Hindon river.

‘The bridge will be gradually opened for light vehicles and heavy vehicles after completing the testing process. It will take around one month to make it fully operational,’ said Santosh Kumar Yadav, chairman of GDA.

The bridge, which has been constructed near Karhera village on Hindon river, will be a boon for commuters travelling from Ghaziabad to <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara and Delhi. ‘It will also ease traffic pressure on congested NH-24 and arterial roads,’ he added.

NH-24, which presently connects Delhi with Ghaziabad, Meerut, Dehradun, and Haridwar has become a nightmare because of traffic snarls as more and more residential townships like <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Crossing Republic and Rajnagar Extension are coming up in the area.
