Two sisters commit suicide in Rohini

The deceased have been identified as Seema (26) and Parul (20). Family members say that the sisters had breakfast before locking themselves up in the room. 

Meanwhile, investigators said that the victims were upset over their sister-in-law’s indifference toward them. The police have initiated an inquiry under the Inquest Proceedings at Vijay Vihar police station. 

Sources close to the investigation revealed that they have recovered a suicide note in which the two sisters have mentioned the name of their sister-in-law Naina. Sources further added that they are in the process of adding Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of IPC in the case. Sources said that doctors recovered the suicide note from one of the deceased’s inner-wear. 

Talking to Millennium Post, Seema and Parul’s elder brother, Aryan Chaudhary (32) said: “They went to Haridwar for four or five days and returned on Tuesday night. We all had an early breakfast at around 10 am, after which they went to their room to sleep. It was around 2:30 pm that we started knocking. Several minutes passed but they didn’t open the door. We grew anxious and called the police. We found them hanging from the ceiling.” According to the police, Seema used to teach at a private playschool in Rohini, while Parul was a school dropout.

Senior police officials of the Outer district have ruled out the possibility of foul play in the initial stage of investigation. “We have started a probe under Inquest Proceedings of Section 174 of the CrPC. We are waiting for the post-mortem reports on the basis of which we will apply the relevant sections,” said a senior cop close to the investigation. 

Aryan Chaudhary, a businessman, said that the duo didn’t seem to be upset, when he was asked to ascertain a reason for their extreme measures. Originally hailing from Punjab, the Chaudhary family has been living in Delhi for quite a long time. Their father passed away in 2011 while their mother died in 2009.

Sources close to investigation said the victims were not on good terms with their sister-in-law and they further added that this was Aryan’s second marriage. His earlier wife had divorced him few years back.
