Two senior citizens killed, houses robbed

An 84-year-old woman was allegedly murdered and her house ransacked by some unidentified persons at Sangam Vihar in south-east Delhi, said police on Saturday. Police suspects this to be a case of robbery.
The deceased was identified as Somwati, who lived with her grandson, Karanveer, in Sangam Vihar K-Block. The incident was reported to the police at around 7 am on Saturday.
In another incident, a 75-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her son’s friend at Keshav Puram in north-west Delhi on the intervening night between Friday and Saturday. Cash worth Rs 60,000 was reportedly missing from her room, said police. The deceased was identified as Sheel Khanna and after preliminary investigations it emerged that her son had invited his friend for a drink on Friday night.
