Two persons die in separate hit-and-run incidents in Noida

The first accident took place when a brand new Ford Endeavour car hit two stationary bikes on road side at Sector 44, leaving one man dead. Eyewitnesses said two women and a man in their early twenties, got out of the car and escaped from the spot. The deceased, identified as Aniket, was talking to one of his friends Anuj and cousin Vivek when the over-speeding SUV hit them from behind. Sources have informed that police have arrested one Naveen Joshi in the case, but the identity of owner of the vehicle has not been disclosed yet.

Right after the accident took place, the locals took the injured persons to the hospital where the doctor declared Aniket dead on arrival. The other two victims Anuj and Vivek are admitted in a private hospital and their condition is said to be critical. ‘We have sent the number for verification. Some passer-by said a female was driving the car, and they all seemed drunk. But all these facts are yet to be verified,’ an investigating official said.

In a separate incident, one man, identified as Rakesh Rajawat was found critically injured at Yamuna Expressway. An eyewitness called the police and he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. ‘The vehicle which hit him has not been identified yet. We are checking the CCTV footages’ a police officer said.
