Two Nigerians, DU graduate held with cocaine, ecstasy tablets

In two separate cases, two suspected Nigerian nationals and an Indian man, who is a graduate <g data-gr-id="21">from</g> the University of Delhi and works as an executive in a private firm, were arrested with cocaine and ecstasy tablets worth several lakhs, police said on Tuesday.
In the first case, the accused were identified as Okechukwu <g data-gr-id="24">Sylverster</g> (25) and Simranjeet Singh (26). The police recovered around 42.5 gram of fine quality cocaine and 30 ecstasy tablets. “They were members of an international syndicate. Based on a tip-off, the police laid a trap near Ramesh Nagar metro station on May <g data-gr-id="27">8,</g> and nabbed the duo when they approached there in a car to allegedly deliver a consignment,” said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime).
Okechukwu reportedly moved from Nigeria to Delhi in 2011 on a tourist Visa and rented a room in west Delhi. He then started supplying cocaine and ecstasy tablets on demand to his customers outside discotheques and hotels. Simranjeet reportedly met Okechukwu in a pub six months ago and joined him, said a police official. Simranjeet is a commerce graduate from the Delhi University.
In another case, the police of New Delhi district arrested one Obiefuna Uchechukwi Joseph (27) with around 12 <g data-gr-id="28">gm</g> cocaine worth nearly 52,000 in the international market. “The police laid a trap near Ashoka Hotel in Niti Marg and intercepted Joseph when he approached there to deliver a consignment,” said Vijay Singh, DCP (New Delhi).
