Two more held in Turkman Gate road rage case

Meanwhile, in a letter addressed to the Delhi Police Commissioner, the father of the road rage victim has demanded a magisterial inquiry into the incident and has accused the local SHO of shielding the accused men. He has also demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh. According to police, the accused persons who were arrested on Tuesday have been identified as Shahdab (24) and Atif Lala(26).
However, police officials have also said that Shahdab’s father Ameen Pahelwan, who is also an accused in the case, is still on the long run.
All the accused are residents of Turkman Gate and have been arrested from different parts of Delhi. On Monday afternoon, Delhi police had arrested the first accused in the case, identified as Wasim. “All the accused have criminal background and have been charged for separate cases,” a police official said.
The incident took place on Sunday night, when Mohammad Shahnawaz, who runs an electric shop in the area, was returning home. His two sons, aged 11 and 14 years, were riding pillion with him.
Mid-way, when they reached the Mata Sundari area, his bike had a minor head-on collision with a Hyundai i20 car. The occupants of the car came out and thrashed him. Meanwhile, two more persons on another motorbike joined them and started beating him up.
