Two LeT guerrillas killed in Sopore gunfight

Two separatist guerrillas of Lashkar-e-Taiba [LeT] outfit, including one said to be involved in the 2011 Delhi High Court blast, were killed Sunday in a gunfight with security forces in Sopore town in north Kashmir, police said. A senior police officer said that the two militants were identified as Urfi and Abdullah Shaheen. ‘Both the slain militants belonged to the LeT outfit and were identified as Urfi, a local, and Abdullah Shaheen, a Pakistani national,’ the officer said. Police also said Urfi had been involved in 7 Sep, 2011, Delhi High Court blasts. Searches are still continuing in the Shallapora area of Sopore, 54 km from here, although the firing had stopped.
