Two juveniles among three held for cheating

Three persons, including two juveniles, were arrested for allegedly cheating a woman and stealing away her belongings, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Saturday near the Peer Baba Mazar in north Delhi when the woman and her brother-in-law, native of Bihar, came in contact with the trio who impersonated themselves as railway ticket agents.

One of the accused on the pretext of buying tickets, took the brother-in-law to some isolated place while the other two escaped with the belongings after tricking the woman, P Karunakaran, Deputy Commissioner of Police, north-west Delhi said. The key accused Anil was arrested on inputs given by the two juveniles and the belongings have been recovered. Meanwhile, a burglar wanted in a couple of snatching and burglary cases has been nabbed here, police said on Wednesday.

The accused Jai Siya Ram, a resident of Jahangirpuri in north Delhi was wanted for two incidents of snatching and burglary in east and west Delhi. He was arrested earlier this week, they said
A team of special staff of the north-west police has been sensitised to seek information on active criminals, north-west Delhi DCP P Karunakaran said.
