Two injured in motorbike-car crash at ITO

Two men were injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding car near ITO in Central Delhi late Saturday night, police said. According to the police, the accident took place around 11:45pm when the men, identified as Sarfaraz and Zoheb -- both in their early twenties, were rammed by an EcoSport car opposite the Maulana Azad Medical College. Sarfaraz, who was riding the motorbike, suffered severe head injuries. Zoheb, who was riding pillion, was also injured, police said.
A passerby made a PCR call, after which the two men were taken to the LNJP hospital. The police are trying to nab the errant car driver, who fled leaving behind the vehicle. “A case has been registered under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC at the IP Estate police station,” said a senior police officer, investigating the case.
