Two held in connection with Jaitpur murder

Delhi Police have arrested two persons in connection with <g data-gr-id="31">murder</g> of a <g data-gr-id="32">35 year old</g> man in South-East Delhi’s <g data-gr-id="33">Jaitpur</g> area.
The incident took place on Tuesday when Roshan, president of <g data-gr-id="42">Gareeb</g> Aadmi Party, was returning home. He was stopped mid-way by two armed assailants in <g data-gr-id="43">Jaitpur</g> area and shot him dead. One of the assailants had slit his throat to ensure he was dead before escaping.
Speaking to Millennium Post, a senior police official said: “We had identified the culprits on Tuesday night and conducted raids to catch them. A team was sent to <g data-gr-id="41">Agwanpur</g>, near the Delhi-Haryana border, where the duo were hiding in their relative’s house. They were nabbed and brought to the police station.”
During interrogation, the duo — Rahul, alias Happy (20) and Rakesh, alias Ram Sharma (24) revealed that they were angry with Roshan for frequently visiting their house and creating <g data-gr-id="39">nuisance</g>.
The police <g data-gr-id="34">is</g> yet to ascertain the source of weapon used to shoot Roshan. According to sources, the victim was the president of <g data-gr-id="38">Gareeb</g> Aadmi Party of ward No. 202 of Badarpur and had been appointed as President one week back. His posters were also being fixed in the area.
The body was handed over to his family for cremation after the post mortem. The autopsy report is awaited.
“We are intensively quizzing the culprits to find out the exact cause. Further investigation is underway,” the official added.
