The Ghaziabad Police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the kidnapping and killing case of a 25-year-old youth Tapish Chaurasiya, son of a noted chartered accountant Rakesh Chaurasiya. Tapish was missing from 1 October.
Tapish, a resident of Chabra Colony of Shalimar Garden in Sahibabad, was kidnapped and murdered by three criminals after he had a scuffle with them. Two out of three accused have been arrested.
The incident had taken place when Tapish was returning from his office at night on 1 October and had a fight with four bike-borne persons. After the fight, the four men kidnapped Tapish and took him to Shamli.
Later, while on their way home, they killed Tapish and threw his body in the roadside forest area.
While the culprits were trying to run away with Tapish’s car to Sonipat, they met with an accident where another man on motorbike was killed. They were going to Sonipat to sell the looted car. Fear arrest, they left the car stranded there and fled away from the spot.
When the police reached the accident spot, they found a mobile phone in the car and with the help of it, they traced the owner.
The location of the owner was traced near Kandhla in Saharanpur and both the accused were arrested. ‘We have arrested two accused and are interrogating them. Manhunt is on the nab the third accused. We are also trying to get details of their other family members so that we can crack other cases,’ said Shivhari Meena, Superintendent of Police (City) of Ghaziabad.
